Vintage Rings by Blair Lisenby Photography

May 31, 2015

My friend Blair Lisenby agreed to shoot the images for our vintage rings photo shoot. Blair is a free-lance photographer. He shoots weddings, family events, children's portraits, pets, special moments, and just about everything in between. His beautiful wife, Angie, helps as his assistant. His brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Daphne Lisenby are professional photographers, too -- that's a lot of photography talent in one family!

We shot most of the vintage ring photos in all natural light in Blair's studio. We used a Nikon D-800 and a Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 lens. For our "test" shoot, we laid rings on different backgrounds -- wood, linen, guitars, glass, shiny finishes, dull finishes, and paper. We really liked the way the rings looked perched on top of different guitars. The beautiful, shiny wood created a nice reflection of the rings. For the final shoot, we decided to use different vintage style papers as our backdrops to enhance the 'personality' and colors of each ring. The images are brilliant.
